Homemade, with Love: More Living Space
Various Artists
August 27, 2020 - July 3, 2021
Main Level, Contemporary Gallery
Krannert Art Museum
This exhibition is a product of both local and national collaboration as young Black women at Urbana and Franklin Middle School and St. Louis artist Jen Everett display their work in this wonderful curation by Blair Ebony Smith. Creativity soars high in this multimedia installation with elements of visual art, sound, and sculptures that explore Black feminist thought and strength. Additionally, a portion of Everett’s Unheard Sounds, Come Through installation is featured with the purpose to creatively deconstruct the elements of home. Homemade combines Black feminism, women artists who critically engage ideas, and the practice of home and world-making to create a collection of stories.
